Programs at The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara

Character & Leadership Development – Empower youth to become global citizens who support and influence their Club and community; sustain meaningful; sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image and good character, and respect their own and others’ cultural identities. Programs in this area include Torch Club, Youth of the Year, Youth of the Month.
 
Education & Career Development -Enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, set goals, explore careers, prepare for employment and embrace technology to achieve success in a career. Programs in this area include: Computer Training, Homework Club (also known as Power Hour), One-on-One Math Tutoring, Junior Staff.
 
Health & Life Skills - Develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults. Programs in this area include Smart Moves, Club Snack, Passport to Manhood, Girls Rule & Boys Voices.
 
The Arts – Encourage youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing. Programs in this area include Ceramics, Painting, Drawing & Crafts, Hip Hop, Break Dancing, Ballet and Flamenco/Spanish Danceand Theater of Imagination - a performing arts group.
 
Sports, Fitness & Recreation – Programs develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills. Programs in this area include In-House Basketball League, In-house Soccer League, Ballers- Traveling All-Star Basketball Team, Field Trips, Overnighters at the Club and the Games Room.
